Local/ Global problems (Raspberry Pi)

Hello there
I’ve got a problem with my plex install on my raspberry pi 4 (4GB). The newest version, which I’ve downloaded directly, is installed on the server. The setup was fairly easy without any problem. After the setup, my media was scanned and everything was working as expected. This was like three weeks ago. It worked for a short period and then it was «offline».

The main problem is that the server sometimes is online but not even reachable from my home network! Currently it can’t be reached from «the outside», but in the settings it’s showing that it is reachable over the internet. I have reinstalled Plex allready but without any success. Furthermore I’ve seen that when I restart the Plex-Mediaserver it is reachable over the internet, but when someone actually is trying to connect, it imidiently swiches to «can’t connect over the internet»!

Does anybody here have a idea where to start fixing this issue? Which log files do you need to check?

Please post server logs. In the mean time, here is a little checklist for you:

(1) Don’t try to configure a static IP on your Pi but a static IP for your Pi in your router, so DNS and Co. is configured automatically for you

(2) Eliminate Double Nat (router behind a router)

(3) Manual port forwarding and specify the port manually in Plex

(4) Check DNS rebind protection in your router https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections/

(5) disable VPN on your Pi

So I’ve tryed every step from you. I also dont have a double Nat situation here. The ports are forwared correctly.

Here are the logs:

I also noticed something special: I tryed to connect with my mobile connection to my Plex libary. It worked and I could play a video for like 2 minutes without a problem, but in the server settings the show that i canno’t connect to “the outside”.
