Can they be added to the album folder or must they be in the Artist folder? For example, if I have (say) six albums by one band but want a different concert background for each album or using screenshots of movies if an artist wrote several film soundtracks.

Thank you, Otto. A while back, I searched and found a post about adding a theme to TV shows and placing Local Media Assets at the top of each metadata scraper list. So I had a little practice adding backgrounds/posters/banners and the naming conventions. I think I’ll be fine.

Plex automatically uses the album art for the album background image, but you can’t really tell because they blur it beyond recognition. You have no control over the image or the blurring, despite heated objections by a lot of users.
