Local streaming to Hisense TV

Server Version#: 4.30.2
Server: Windows 10, 17 6770k

Player: Hisense LEDN65U7A connected through ethernet
Player Version#: Plex for VIDAA 3.13.14 MTK5658

I am unable to get plex to play to my Hisense Smart TV. It plays fine to all other connected devices, including a Samsung Smart TV. I have installed a new router in my home (ASUS AC86U), and the problem began then.

The server computer is able to see the Hisense as a Plex for VIDAA device, and if I select the cast option, the TV responds to navigation through the menus on the server as expected. However when I click play, the playback freezes at the 3 dots on the TV and on the server side I get a pop-up message saying “Unable to start this stream”.

The playback on through the TV has never been great (buffering was a big issue unless I used Optimized for TV versions), but now it seems that playback is altogether impossible.

I have tried:
Enabling/disabling direct stream/play on both the server and TV side
Looking through the logs (not sure what I am looking for though - Some direction on this would be appreciated)
Playing optimised and non-optimised versions.

I can provide logs if required, just unsure of the verbosity and logging settings required.

Have the funeral - it’s over.

RIP to the App, but the good news is: a Roku Ultra Refurb (about $60 at Amazon) will plug right into one of it’s HDMI ports - and you’re back, live and in color!

Logs are not required, but Verbose logs are useless.
DO NOT ENABLE VERBOSE!
(unless specifically asked to do so)
