Like many of you, I have received a Plex email to password reset, unlink exisitng devices and enable 2FA.
Done all of that.
Context
My Hisense is about 5-6yrs old so it’s not using VIDAA OS. However, before today, it worked fine (well, not completely as it has issues playing some files for the first 10-30secs; I usually skip the little bit and seems to play OK for the remaining time of the file)
I’ve relinked it to Plex but Plex is seeing my Hisese as a VIDAA 3.13.14.
I can’t get any info of the Plex app on my Hisense as it was preinstalled by Hisense themselves. TV menu options are almost non-existent so I can’t do much from the TV side.
The odd thing is, depsite Plex has added my Hisese as an authorised device under VIDAA; on my TV, I can sign in but as soon as the login process is done, I get a complete black screen. Nothing to see or do.
Tried logging in as a guest a/cc but I got the “401 Unauthorized” text.
All my other devices can use Plex fine after relinking.
So, it might be the case that Plex can’t register my Hisense anymore and I didn’t take a note/screenshot of what OS Plex had categorised my Hisense was.
Can Plex re-apply some backward compatibility to Hisense?
