Plex is not identifying local subtitles that are in the same folder as the movies or series. The subtitles have the same name as the video file and even then, they are not identified. The format is .srt.

Please post the first ~20 lines from the Plex XML info of an affected video.
Did you enable the display of file name extensions in the Windows file explorer? Otherwise you may believe that the subtitles have the same file name, while they actually do not.
External subtitles may sometimes only be recognised after Refresh Metadata of the item.

Trigger “Refresh Metadata” for the whole Season.
Another thing to check: open the srt file using this software Subtitle Edit
If the “Encoding” selector says anything else than “UTF-8”, switch it to UTF-8. Then press the “Save” icon.
What updates?
Did you trigger “Refresh Metadata” for the whole Season?
Is R: actually a network file share? If so, do the SRT files have identical access permissions set as the video file?
