I’ve noticed that a local trailer will not display as an extra for a movie when it is the only file besides the movie file in the movie folder. For example, the trailer will not show as an extra here.

City Slickers (1991).mkv
Theatrical Trailer-trailer.mkv
If I rename the Extra_Type to -short instead of -trailer, it will show as an extra.
If there are additional extra files, it will show as an extra. The trailer will show in this example.

Exactly. All of those little icons are for editing, syncing, etc for THE MOVIE. The trailer icon doesn’t belong in that row, it’s not where most people would naturally look for it, and should be shown below as one of the available extras.
Regarding Syncing - at my age that icon looks exactly like the one almost right next to it where you mark it watched/unwatched.
I’m just glad I get the big warning screen when I hit the wrong button that tells me I’m about to sync an item to Plexweb - so I can play it back later when it’s not connected to the server.
Developers need to develop I guess - and they ALL have 20/20 Vision.
Syncing is probably to a phone and because my vision is more than a few notches away from 20/20, I wouldn’t be able to click/see the watched/unwatched button after I listened to the blurry video, so those little icons are all on my “ignore” list.
Thanks to both of you. I don’t think I would have ever found it. I didn’t see a “Film Reel”, but when I click on the three dots in the lower right corner of the movie, it gives a lot of options and one of them is “Play Trailer”. Not very logical to have it there.
