So I added trailers to all my action movies but when I click on the movie in the web app, some trailers show up as Trailers with the Reel icon at the top buttons in which case they do not show up in “Extras” but some don’t show up as trailers in which case the Reel icon isn’t there but instead are showing up as an “Extra”. I’m just wondering will plex use both of these types in the “Play Trailers Before Movies” feature or will only the ones with the Reel icon be playing in which case, how do I get Plex to recognize them all as Trailers even though they already all have the same naming conventions?
If you have multiple trailers for a movie, Plex will only link the 1st with the Play Trailer
button (reel icon). Additional trailers will show alongside your other extras as “regular” local media assets of type trailer. However they’re all recognized as trailers and considered in the trailer pool used by Play Trailers Before Movies
.
I have the same problem. I have one (local) trailer for every movie, in the folder for that movie, named “moviename-trailer”.
In the web app (or player) some show up with a “play trailer” button, others only underneath as Extra.
It appears the trailers that are NOT under a “play trailer” button are not selected to play before a movie.
It’s driving me crazy: I add every movie/trailer in exactly the same way, but some get a button, some don’t and I can’t figure out what the difference is…
When Agents are set to Local Media Assets on top, trailer files save as trailers and will be added to the pool of trailers that randomly play before movies.
When Agents are set with Local Media Assets as secondary, trailer files are flagged as “Extras” and will display in the movie page but will not be eligible to play before movies like trailers should.
Please fix this as I prefer to have Local Media Assets secondary because it makes the names more clean and info more accurate. Thank you.
