local users and apps, do i need to buy the apps if i have a plex pass on my server?

Hi

Im thinking of switching back to Plex from Emby after reading something about plex now allowing for local management of users.
the question i have is, do i need to buy plex apps to my kids and their friends if i have a plex pass server?
there account is something i want to manage local and i dont want them to have to setup a online plex account. (The lokal handling of users using a private domain is the main reason why i use Emby now)

If you create managed users via the Plex Home, then they don’t need to purchase the apps themselves. Check the FAQ for Plex Pass and you’ll find entries on how the Plex Home and managed users work.
