Local Web Client: Default to Server's Libraries Without Login

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3616-d87012962
Player Version#: Web Client

When connecting to my local Plex server using my intranet address (not via app.plex.tv). I’m now presented with a default index page filled with Plex channel streaming content. Only after hitting “MORE>” do I see my server’s media or after I login with my plex.tv account.

No I’m not signed in, cookies get deleted and devices change. And yes, I have the Plex channels disabled under the Account>Online Media Sources settings. But requiring a login with a remote server to see my local server’s content by default is infuriating.

Is there anyway to address this? Or any hope that it will be addressed? I have very much enjoyed using Plex over the years and hope that this new side of Plex (as a streaming service) can coexist without being a detriment to the local media roots that made Plex so attractive and useful to me.

There’s a fairly lengthy discussion of this topic over here:

There are a couple of comments from Plex staff in that thread which suggest this is something they’re aware of and discussing.

And for what it’s worth, if you don’t toss your cookies for your server’s IP address on browser/tab close, it will remember your preferences and pinned libraries. At least it does in my case when not signed in and accessing the server’s IP directly. I understand that’s not necessarily the point of your post, but it may help in the interim until/if a change is made.

Thanks for pointing to this. I did search at first and failed miserably, whoops.
