Lock certain users on certain devices

Hi there.

I use Plex with my whole family. We all love it!!!

As christmas present, my son (7 years old) gets a small tablet. My wife also uses Plex on her iPad. So do I.

I set up some libraries in Plex for each user. For me some action movies, love stories for my wife (I know what stereotype this is). For my son I added two libraries: The first one only with some “kids radioplays / audiobooks” (is this the right word? In German it is “Hörspiele”) - something like “Three Incestigators Kids” or “Fireman Sam” and such plays. The other library for my son is with “kids movies and movie clips”.

Also I set up some managed users for my wife and my son. My son got 2 managed users for his two libraries. One with access to the “radioplays” only and one with acces to the movies only. My user and my wife´s user are secured with a pin, the child users are not.

What I now really would love to do is, lock one of my son´s user to his tablet, so that he can only hear the radioplays unattended. He is only allowed to watch movies or clips under supervision on the TV in the living room, where my wife or I can watch him. I would like to “prevent” changing the user on the kids tablet…

Do you understand what I mean? Is this possible or is it a feature request???

Thank you for any hint or help.

Best regards
Benni

Locking users to certain devices is not possible.

If the kid is only allowed to watch movies under supervision, then simply set a PIN to his ‘movies’ account.
Only the parents know this PIN and are then required to unlock his movie account before he can watch a movie.
After he is finished with the movie, you need to think about switching user account back to his ‘radioplay-only’ account though.
