Lock For Plex broken, alternative?

I’ve been using a third party plugin, Lock for Plex (I think that’s the name) that allowed me to lock and unlock media libraries so that the particular library wouldn’t show up in the normal list of libraries, until I unlocked it with a pin.

I’m not sure when but sometime in the last few months that plugin seems to be partially broken. On some plex platforms I can still enter my pin and get the libraries to show up (or lock them again), but on the web player I can’t see the plugin to unlock those libraries.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this, or if there is an alternative?

Plugins are depreciated, so strongly suggest you unlock all libraries before it’s too late!

OK fine, I get that Plex needed to make the move. But is there anything out there that will do what I’m asking?

You might look into Plex‘ „Home“ Feature.

This will allow setting up a number of managed accounts in your home. You can share different libraries with those users. Different from regular sharing you can switch users within your Plex clients by selecting from the list of home users and entering their respective pin.

Also… Plex Home requires a Plex Pass membership
