Is there a reason that the locked fields issue can’t get resolved?
In my case, I have changed (and locked) all of the James Bond movie Sort Title fields to “Bond 1963, Bond 1964, Bond 1965,” etc. Whenever I add new titles and refresh the folder, these revert to the original movie titles.
I’m not the only one complaining about this issue. What’s the deal? Why can this not seem to be fixed?
I’m not having issues with cover art changing. All of my titles are matched. I do often add custom cover art. My issue is with the Sort Title reverting to the matched title.
If you can walk me through providing “XML from PMS” on these (on a Mac), I will attempt to.
I thought pics of exactly what Kevin is talking about might help. The “originally available” field can be changed successfully but whenever the metadata is refreshed by PMS the date is incorrectly changed back despite the locked field. This is also reflected in the XML files. I included that the movie is “matched” since that was considered one reason why fields aren’t locked correctly. Sorry about large pic size but thought it makes the issues crystal clear.
@“Chris Teasdale” Are you referring specifically to the year shown on the top right? If so, I can confirm this. That does look like a bug. However, the actual fields do not change, correct?
Yes the date I change and lock to “1962-10-05” is at first correctly put in the XML file making the year 1962. But then with a “Refresh” of the movie the “1962-10-05” value stays locked in the XML but the year is changed back to 1963. Presumably the 1963 date is being pulled from Freebase and replacing the locked 1962 incorrectly. I would call it a bug.
I was pleased to see the following in the “Fixes” for 0.9.17.2
“When editing metadata, the year field wasn’t respecting its lock status on refresh (#4560)”
As a FYI to anyone who cares to get this fix to work I needed to do the following:
unlock the “Originally Available” field for the movie
refresh the movie to install the date I didn’t want
enter my custom date for “Originally Available” and lock the field once again
refresh again to test
success date field now locks correctly
I know it is a small thing but might as well have things work correctly.
