Log media attribute(s) that cause transcoding

I don't care if videos are transcoded when played back on any of my "remote" clients (laptop, tablet, etc.), but would much rather have them direct played on my main client.  When that was a WIndows 7 HTPC, there wasn't an issue because the client and server were on the same box. But now that I'm using a Sony NSZ-GS7 Google TV box, not everything makes it through direct.  I'm assuming PMS does some media info checking against device capabilities to determine if transcoding is necessary--it'd be great to have this show up in the log file when a video is played.  That way, if there is something about it that I can correct to allow it to be played directly, then I will "fix" the file.
