Login Problems with Plexamp iOS App

Hello all…

I have a Lifetime subscription to PLEX (with integrated TIDAL for my music needs)… and recently I saw two new iOS app that I could use, so I downloaded PLEX Dash (which instantly worked and I understood what it was all about) but when I opened up Plexamp I got a blank black screen at the start then a login screen appeared. I logged into my PLEX account with my email and then I got an error saying “NO SERVERS. We couldn’t connect to any servers. This may indicate a network issue”. Yet PLEX is working perfectly on my MacPro / MacBook Pro and my AppleTV 4K and any other supportive devices I have around the house.

Can anyone help me to resolve this issue and get Plexamp up and running correctly…?

Stay Safe and greetings from Ireland…

Regards,
Anthony

All right up to date devices iPhone 11 Max Pro running iOS 13.4.1.

Such a disappointment :frowning: With no real answer in sight I can find anywhere…

On Plexamp, when you go to settings (gear symbol), are you signed into your server? Have you tried signing out and resign-in

Delete app, start over…?.

Hmmm, interesting… I thought we’d nailed all those issues. If you have the ability to return root XML from your server, can you DM me that?

Exactly the same experience as Anthony here. And I’m unable to get to Plexamp’s settings due to the inability to fully sign in.

Same issue here!

I’m having issues connecting Plexamp to my Plex Media Server too. Infect, it doesn’t even get past the login screen. It says i successfully logged in and then it says NO SERVERS.

Can we get this fixed please

Also experiencing this issue on an iPhone 11 Max Pro running iOS 13.4.1, but I also get the same error on the Windows app and the MacOS app (latest 10.15.x version). Any updates on this?

I have the exact same issue davorbn, I downloaded the latest update release about a day ago hoping that would fix the issue… but nadda… still the same NO SERVERS error. Hopefully someone at PLEX will see this and get it sorted soon… I have yet to see the app working :frowning:

Not the right thread, but same on Android.

Edit: Sorry, I didn’t realize the need to have a music library setup initially.

Hi Elan… My music library is TIDAL… does it work with that…?

Not sure I would try adding the music library on the server even if it points to an empty folder (like mine) and then try. After more digging the steps are

*Create music library folder: this enables login
Goto settings->source and select tidal

*= Plex music folder doesn’t need to be populated it just needs to be there.

If this is a solution please edit post to resolved

At the moment, you need an actual server library. We’ll look into changing that in the future.

I can confirm that this has worked for me.

Thank you!!!

thanks man, I was having the same issue then read your Edit and realised I hadn’t created a music folder yet lol, cheers!

Yep, that was it. Created the folder and all is well.

Hello @elan and others - I’m also experiencing this issue across Mac and iOS devices.

  • I’m running server version 1.19.5.3112 on a Mac. I’m also running the latest Plexamp. v. 3.1.1 on the Mac clients.
  • Using the standard Plex client works just fine across all devices.
  • With Plexamp, I’m able to log in through my browser, but then the app doesn’t activate. Both the server account and the Plexamp account used are the same. It is a Plex Pass account.
  • The error received is “No servers: We couldn’t connect to any servers. This may indicate a network issue.”
  • I have a Music library, and it works fine on all other Plex apps. I have tried creating a new Music library, and that doesn’t resolve it either. (So above solution does not apply.)
  • I have tried with Remote Access enabled and disabled (prefer to keep it disabled).
  • I have tried it with Webhooks on and off (prefer to keep it off).
  • I have tried it with IPs allowed locally without auth.
  • This issue has persisted for the last couple weeks at least, so it is not a result of a the auth API outage today. (I do wish there was a way to login locally without going to plex.tv.)

Nothing works. I’m very confused. Really appreciate any help to troubleshoot.

Most likely all of:

  • You have DNS rebind protection on your LAN.
  • Your server has “require secure connections”
  • Either router doesn’t support NAT loopback or remote access is disabled.

Thanks for the rapid response @elan.

It was indeed “require secure connections” that needed to be switched to “preferred.”

If/when I were to open up remote access, does this mean that Plexamp data is not transmitted over secure connections? If that’s unsecured, then is there a plan to enable that in a future version?

Thanks!
