I was able to successfully log into Plexamp on iOS, and started loading my music onto my server around the same time.
Then on my iPhone 11 Pro after tapping a blank song with blank artwork, and 0:00 time, I am now stuck at a blank black screen.
I have restarted my iPhone, and deleted and reinstalled the app.
The app allowed me to log in, but I am now still stuck at a blank black screen.
I’ve tried this on wifi and cellular, with no change
Hmm, if you deleted and reinstalled the app it shouldn’t have any saved data I can imagine it running into issues with a scan-in-progress, but not sure why it would still have issues after it’s done.
To test a theory, can you try making a new plex user, sharing with that user and signing in with that user?
Update:
I still have not been able to sign in using another user that doesn’t have Plex pass, but I have produced a different result.
If I delete the app, reinstall it, and try to sign in while my server is off, I get a successful sign in, a loading wheel for a few moments, and then an error saying no music servers.
If I try again while the PC is on, I get the same issue as previously mentioned - blank black screen
I’ve been able to try a few more things to troubleshoot this issue. Each test has been after a fresh install of the Plexamp app.
Shut down my primary Plex server app, and created another server on my other PC. I logged in on my iPhone, and was greeted with the same grey/black screen after logging in.
Tested on my iPad in the same scenario above, and got the same grey/black screen.
Signed in using Google SSO, and my Plex info
I’ve asked another user on my server to test, and she was unable to, due to not having a Plex Pass
Update: I’ve invited my friend with a Plex Pass to my server, and he was able to see my music library.
I’m still unable to see anything at all, even after ensuring both my iPhone and iPad are up to date on software
It looks like this issue is tied to my account for some reason, and not to the server.
I have also requested my friend to add me to his server, and I’m still unable to access anything at all through the Plexamp app, whether on my network or off.
Most of my troubleshooting requires me to delete the app, and then sign back in.
My final tests will be to ensure my server is up to date, and then try to connect again.
If that doesn’t work, I will power off all my personal Plex servers, and then try to use Plexamp again, hoping that it will connect to my friend’s server.
Edit:
I’ve just tried the above two steps to troubleshoot, and I am still unable to get anything in Plexamp other than a grey screen.
To be clear, after successfully signing in, I see some library information for just a fraction of a second, but then goes blank grey/black.
• I have ruled out my device, by testing on another device (my iPad and my Mac)
• I have ruled out my primary server, by testing multiple PC servers at home.
• I have ruled out my internet connection by trying to connect to a friend’s Plex server, while my phone is on cellular and not wifi, and have confirmed that my friend is able to see my primary server, while he’s not on my local network.
• I have also tested by removing both of my active servers, and only connecting to my friend’s server.
At this point, I can only see this being something with Plexamp that is not allowing my account to continue to see an active server.
I’m very anxious for an update if that’s the case! I’m hearing good things about the app!
The latest update (version 3.0.1) has now been out for a couple of days across all platforms and includes fixes for some of these situations. Have you had any more luck with this update?
hi, i am so sorry ,this update version ,cannot solve my prolbems ,this app seem like has not problem, but i may be like could’s problems. why user data save in could?
Currently this has not resolved my issue, and this topic should probably be changed as I’ve now determined that it is not an issue with the just iOS app.
It’s an issue with my account being able to access Plexamp properly, on any device.
I have multiple servers that the Plex app is able to connect to, but plexamp will never function properly.
It is able to sign in successfully, and for a fraction of a second, it will show the menu (and I am able to interact with things if I’m fast enough), but then the screen will go completely grey/black.
I’ve been able to reproduce this issue on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
This may be an issue where it’s trying to pull the most recent song played, which doesn’t exist, but I don’t seem to have any control over removing that.
I’m assuming that it’s something your team will need to resolve on the back end of my account
hi,SimonXCIV,i also find this problem, i analyzed its logs on windows 10 and i find it may be about the recent played music , in the future version , can be changed default loaded music? and this app can be open source on the github? i am a java developer , i want to join this project and test those bug.
Great to hear! The iOS and Android releases could take a few days to roll out to everybody, but in the meantime, you should be able to clear the broken history item from the Mac app, which should let you back into the iOS one. Look for a track without a title. Removing it should fix the iOS app
So glad that this is working, and I’m really looking forward to the Carplay integration!
Can’t wait for this to replace Apple Music for my personal music
