Had to remove my computer from the landline, using only WiFi now and Plex had been problematic. So I reinstalled the latest version. The initial setup appears to work just fine, adding all my files to the library. But when I close the window, and try relaunching, it sits a says looking for server forever. Never finds it again.
Uninstalled, and completely removed everything, including registry files, and tried reinstalling again, but with the same results. Did this at least 5 times now, expecting something to finally start working (definition of insanity is?), but always with the same results.
I have read forums for days now, and did everything they suggested. The server version is the latest, browser version as well, even tried creating a new account, but to no avail. All my devices are on the same WiFi, with the same subnet, so that’s not the issue.
There is something Plex adds on my computer, that the forums do not talk about, that is keeping it from working. My guess is, every time I try to launch, it is still looking at some hidden file that I cannot find and that file tells it to go to the wrong place to find my server.
Please help, I am about to start filming YouTube shorts of me executing the Plex logo in a million different ways, as I am unable to find a better way to discharge this frustration.
