"Looking for servers" only for main Plex user (managed users fine)

Server Version#: 1.15.0.659
Player Version#: 3.89.2

Chrome web client won’t find the Plex server on the same network, but only exhibits the problem when logged in as the main Plex user. All the managed users, including a Guest, find and display content from the Plex server (on a Qnap) reliably. I’ve tried logging out of the Plex account, using Incognito mode, restarting the server, and restarting the client computer, all without success.

Try updating to latest PlexPass build 1.15.1.x and see if that makes any difference.

Updated PMS on Qnap to 1.15.1.710, and my main account is still “offline” while the other managed users see content as expected. This behavior is present on both the Chrome web app and the iOS app. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Log into your account via http://app.plex.tv.

Go to Web Client > General > Turn Off Sync Settings (if enabled).

Then go click Account > Sign-out.

Do the same thing on your qnap Plex web server http://:32400

Then log back in on your server and see if that seems to fix it.

Thanks man, I followed that to the letter and am still having the same behavior for the main Plex user account, while the managed users work fine.

May we have the DEBUG log files please, captured manually or manually, after signing out of the web app and then trying to reach it at http://ip.addr.of.qnap:32400/web ?

Here are the debug logs from the Chrome web app. Thanks for taking a look. Let me know what else you might need.Plex-debug-2019-03-13.txt (31.8 KB)

@ChuckPa I fixed this issue on my own by trial and error, so for now I no longer need support. I suggest spending some development time on exposing self-service troubleshooting options, such as more information about the authentication status for the client in comparison to what the server and Plex account have. Also, given my issue and number of similar issues, it seems like an investment in making the overall subscriber validation mechanism more resilient, would result in reducing a whole class of error issues.
