Chrome web client won’t find the Plex server on the same network, but only exhibits the problem when logged in as the main Plex user. All the managed users, including a Guest, find and display content from the Plex server (on a Qnap) reliably. I’ve tried logging out of the Plex account, using Incognito mode, restarting the server, and restarting the client computer, all without success.
Updated PMS on Qnap to 1.15.1.710, and my main account is still “offline” while the other managed users see content as expected. This behavior is present on both the Chrome web app and the iOS app. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
May we have the DEBUG log files please, captured manually or manually, after signing out of the web app and then trying to reach it at http://ip.addr.of.qnap:32400/web ?
@ChuckPa I fixed this issue on my own by trial and error, so for now I no longer need support. I suggest spending some development time on exposing self-service troubleshooting options, such as more information about the authentication status for the client in comparison to what the server and Plex account have. Also, given my issue and number of similar issues, it seems like an investment in making the overall subscriber validation mechanism more resilient, would result in reducing a whole class of error issues.
