Looking to implement Plex Server firewall NAT Keepalive for remote access

Hi there,

When I am remote and try to view my plex server via the internet, often I am unable to. To make this work, I need to login to my Windows Server (2012r2), launch the Plex web interface, then select “Remote Access”. as soon as I do that and the server “verifies” internet connectivity, then I can connect to my remote session. Could an option in the Server config add the ability to turn ON a “keep alinve” option that continually “tests” the connectivity forcing the firewall to remain open and ready?

  1. If you are using UPnP to automatically create a portforwarding in your router, switch to a manually created portforwarding.

  2. Disable powersaving on the network adapter in Windows
    (yes, I know it looks differently in the Windows Server edition, but you’ll know which option I mean)
