LOONEY TUNES file naming alternative option

After trying and failing with several file naming options already listed in the forums for LOONEY TUNES, it occurred to me that these aren’t actual TV seasons, they are MOVIE SHORTS that originally played in theaters. I tried naming the computer file the same way I name my movies, by just using the title of the “short”.
A STAR IS BORED.mkv
PORKY IN WACKYLAND.mkv
CARROTBLANCA.mkv
BUGS BUNNY’S WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS.mkv
I updated my library and they were titled perfectly for viewing, except in cases where there was an alternate movie, such as:
TRANSYLVANIA 6-5000.mkv
In those cases I used the “FIX MATCH” option where I could choose the correct one from a list. In this case there were only 2 options for that title. Any that weren’t matched were usually because I misspelled the title myself, so I used the “MATCH” option and fixed the title there in the search. Any other unmatched titles were usually because the title was strange such as DUCK DODGERS IN THE 24 AND 1/2 CENTURY. I couldn’t find that match until I chose “MATCH” and simply searched for DUCK DODGERS. Dashes (-) were important in naming to get a match with those titles with dashes.

In all, 99% of the 557 titles matched without issue. I named most of the special feature options from the DVDs whatever I wanted at the time, but if I could do it again, I would have started each name with SF, so they would all be in the same place.

Lastly, to keep them all separated from my movies, they are in a folder called LOONEY TUNES, inside a 2nd folder called LOONEY TUNES.

Best method: go to thetvdb and search Looney tunes. Naming should be the year as the season, then the episode number. So S1942E14 would be The Wacky Wabbit.

Once named, then on the Looney Tunes show page, find the Edit button, Click Advanced and change the Episode Ordering to THETVDB (Aired).

Not sure if you had read my post… The Wacky Wabbit (for example) played in theaters, like a movie. If you name the file in the same way you name a movie (Risky Business, for example) it is recognized by the programs and all data is applied (year, director, etc). There is no need to search for season and episode numbers. ONE simple step does it all: name the file THE WACKY WABBIT. Plus, if you need to look for that title on the server, there it is.

Already done the other way so… Also there are issues with punctuation and matching and differences in naming and matching names that make it as time consuming one way as the other…

It’s just a matter of preference

Personally, I would rather name this as a tv show because you can use a renaming application to do all those episodes in a few minutes

They are all in the same place under the TV show format

At 7 minutes long you could just turn on auto play so it continues to the next episode instead of having to make a playlist for the same behavior

To each his own
