Loss of posters - PART 2

Following up after this post:

I finally decided to update again (to 1.26.1.5798, and 1.26.1.5772 before it) and see if PMS resolved the issue but it has not, I still have posters disappearing all over and the only way to restore is to shut down Plex and restart (EVERY DAY OMG!). I have tried all settings regarding agents, but this has NOTHING to do with it as the posters aren’t technically gone they just glitch and hide.

When I downgrade to 1.24.5.5173 this problem is GONE, is this the last version of Plex that works for retaining posters?

HELP!!!

On 1.27.1.5891 now, problem continues. Need to restart daily…

can you restart plex after a crash, wait 5-10 minutes and then post the server logs?

It doesn’t crash, the posters start disappearing. Only reappear when I restarted.

1.27.2.5929 … problem continues. Seriously is there no idea on a resolution except reversion to 1.24.5.5173?

I can confirm, the same thing just started happening to me. More than half of the movie posters in my collection are blank as of this afternoon. I’ve cleaned bundles, optimized the database, refreshed metadata, and nothing brings them back.

I can’t exactly browse my collection if >50% of the posters are just a blank box.

Will need server logs after it happens. if they are showing up after a restart but without having to refresh all the metadata, then something sounds off with the database.

if you do update the server again. I suggest that after it finishes installing to leave it alone for about an hour or so. Maybe do it before bed and check it in the morning. There are many database migrations that can happen when skipping a bunch of versions when it starts back up which could take a while to finish

Ok, after they start disappearing before I restart I’ll grab the logs

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-08-21_17-48-26.zip (4.4 MB)
…Here are the logs.

Any luck checking logs?

sorry for losing track of this one.

your server logs show a lot of error resizing images due to running out of memory

I have 16 GB on the server running at around 80% use. I am monitoring the memory usage to see if it coinsides with this error type…but please be aware if I revert to an older version of Plex Server I do not have any problems…
Also the images in question (not referring to the error ones in the log, but the poster art shown) are already existing not newly being resized, eventually depending on timing 70-80% of all images will disappear until I restart Plex.

I haven’t noticed any issues with memory or Plex…but I doubled the memory to 32 GB and now the system sits around 30% use. Again reiterating I never had this issue EVER before until recent updates of Plex but I haven’t heard a solution yet.

Would you mind getting the logs from one of the player apps you are using after loading a screen where the poster are not loading.

The issue continues…
The posters are missing on the web interface, android app (on phone), android app (on ShieldTV). Where/how do you want logs?

Following up, let me know the best platform to pull the client side logs and how to do so.

Same here.
