I just noticed that about half of all posters are missing from various clients, iphone, appletv. Whats weird is that 100% of the posters show up if i go to http://192.168.1.x:32400/web. If I open another tab in the same browser and go to https://app.plex.tv/ half the images are missing. If I change a poster in https://app.plex.tv/ then it becomes missing at http://192.168.1.x:32400/web
So I figured it out, well sort of. looking at network traffic was a ton of 500 errors. in the logs i see lots of this. I must have been hitting browser cache at the IP Adresses that I was missing at plex.tv
ERROR - [Req#17a09c7] Format [JPEG] - DIB allocation failed, maybe caused by an invalid image size or by a lack of memory
ERROR - [Req#17a09c7] Error resizing an image, we don’t trust what we cached [C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx.jpg]
I am not sure what lack of memory means because there is a TB free on the local disk plex is running on, the server has 32GB of RAM and was at like 20% usage according to Task Manager. Plex is the only thing running on this server. Anyways I rebooted the server and its all good again.
This KEEPS happening btw. Am I the only person that has this problem? As of a few months ago I need to reboot my plex server like once a week to fix issues.

I see no one’s replied to you as of yet, but maybe if I add that I’m also going thru this issue with posters not showing up and it’s ONLY been with the past two (2) updates that it’s happened.
I haven’t had time to go thru the logs (not sure if I’ve turned them on TBH), but it shouldn’t matter because I’ve had the SAME Plex setup for over 7yrs and have never changed one (1) iota with it (I use a Windows mini desktop w 32GB RAM attached to a Synology NAS, and like you, Plex is the ONLY thing running on the desktop) and I’ve NEVER had posters go missing before, so I don’t think it’s a ‘me’ issue.
I seriously think it’s a bug in/with the newest updates, but that’s just my two (2) cents.
My posters disappear too. especially when i click on the movie to watch it or see a trailer. then the poster is gone, I keep adding it back in but yeah this sux
Not sure if you tried this (you probably have), but I just ran a full ‘Refresh Metadata’ on ALL my folders one-by-one (I have a ‘All Movies’ main folder, but I also set/split them into smaller folder groups, like ‘Horror’, ‘Marvel’, ‘DC’, etc.), waited for each folder to cycle, rebooted my server and my NAS, and everything came up and started working fine and has been for over a week now.
