Running Windows 10 on a brand new out of the box computer.
I had the server set up and noticed there was an update available. While updating - the computer crashed.
At first plex listed the server but couldn’t access it. I couldn’t figure out the issue, removed the server and thought I might start again but the server installation won’t complete because it can’t stop the previous version.
Anyone have some simple instructions to dig me out of this mess?
Tried to follow your instructions. I no longer have a tray icon to use to stop plex. But I have uninstalled, adjusted the registry, and attempted a reinstall.
The install program stops halfway through saying it can not find the folder containing ‘PMs-shutdown.mai’
Any ideas?
I’ve since deleted the registry entirely, uninstalled, deleted every folder from the app data.
In desperation I created a new account. No matter what I’ve tried I get stuck ‘The older version of stopping plex cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group’
I purchased this computer yesterday. We installed nothing but plex on it. If I knew how I would reset the machine to default and start again.
