Lost sound with all video on plex home theater

Server Version#: Plex Media Server V1.19.5
Player Version#: Plex home theater V 1.8.0.1481

hi all

My nas QNAP DS251D is connected on my samsung TV with HDMI câble.
I install plex home theater on hybridDesk Station to see a lot of movies and tv shows.

All works fine until recently. I suddenly lost sound on all vidéos.
In the morning, i see movies without problems. In the afternoon (NAS always ON), no sound ??

I must restart NAS to have sound and i lost it again a few hours later and i restart etc etc

Dont see where is the problem

Of course, QNAP say me that i use a third application (home theater) and dont want to help me …

thanks all for your help.

I’m completely unfamiliar with using a QNAP as a HTPC, but some general troubleshooting questions:

Does this always happen after watching a specific show, after a certain amount of time watching, or after a certain amount of time “idle”?

If you restart the TV, or unplug and plug the HDMI back in, does that also resolve the issue? Or is restarting the QNAP the only solution?

If you play media using a QNAP application, does the issue persist - or is it only in the Plex application?

Plex Home Theater should not be available from QNAP.

Plex released it to general public (freeware) a few years ago,
Someone picked it up and made a port to QNAP.

Since that time, the person who was doing the port stopped supporting it.

I spoke with QNAP and the QPKG was withdrawn.

hi all

this happen with all video and after a certain amount of time standby

reboot the nas is only the solution to have again sound.

must try with another application.

what application can i use to organize my movies and tv shows ?

thx all

I think most of us would recommend a dedicated player device - a Roku Ultra or a Shield Pro or a Fire.

To organize the media - TheRenamer or FileBot
