This is fantastic and makes it FAR easier for me to use my iOS device for music. I love it. Playing around I can see a few small tweaks that I, personally, would like but overall this is a great experience.
I am SO IN LOVE with the new PlexAmp! been using the old desktop one a TON but the new one just brings it to a whole new level. This might honestly be my new favourite piece of software. Thanks to all the good folks who crafted this!
Just started trying it. It has some nice features, but there are aspects of Prism that I still prefer. And the Prism dev is super responsive to requests. It’ll be interesting to see how these two apps evolve.
Agreed, those are the two biggest holes for me too. I love all of the Plex radio stations and I can’t seem to get them through the Sonos app (though I can AirPlay to my Sonos so at least there’s that).
I turned on one click play (which I prefer, especially when nothing is playing yet) and it pops up the “now playing screen” which is pretty annoying. I have to dismiss the now playing screen to be able to keep browsing…not a huge pain but frustrating…
I also find the now playing screen doesn’t react to the swipe down (to “minimize it”) very easily. Makes quick, one finger, browsing much harder.
I think it would also be good to add podcasts (though I’ve switched back to Apple Podcasts a few months ago as Plex kept hanging for me).
My iTunes Match hit 100k uploads today, so thought this was perfect timing to install on my phone to listen to just my new stuff.
Liking what I’m seeing so far, but I think I must be blind… I cannot find a view to show all my artists like I can in the Plex Web view. I use Recently Added a ton in iTunes so that’s great, but sometimes I’ll want to just browse my Artist list but can’t see how to. Anyone?
So one awesome feature you may not of thought of. My daughter loves to listen to my music collection, but gets limited by screen time on Plex since she also uses it for TV. Now I can give her unlimited music time and still limit the TV time.
