LTV Playback Fails For High Definition OTA Channels - Ubuntu->Happague WinTV-HVR-2250->AFTV

So I’m testing out the PVR functionality with my Happauge WinTV-HVR-2250 on my PC that is running Plex Media Server on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I’m running these tests with both the server and client on my local network. Interesting stuff, everything seems to work fine when I use the Plex web or my iOS devices (I’ve tried both an iPad and iPhone running iOS 10), less maybe some lack of freeing up the tuners after streaming (noticed a possibility of this but not my biggest issue at the moment).

However, when I use my Amazon Fire TV’s (1st Gen, rooted using latest rbox build), I can watch standard definition channels, but not HD channels.

I’ve turned on crash reporting and I’ve attached both my client and server logs. Best I can tell the crash recorded in these logs occurred between these two entries in the client logs

10-04 20:14:05.271 i: Creating SectionGridActivity.
10-04 20:14:05.426 i: ------------------------------

Hoping this could help lead to the identification of what’s causing the issue and a consequent fix.

Please let me know if I can provide more information.

Thanks

[UPDATE]
So I’ve found that if I limit the home streaming bandwidth setting to 3mbs (720p HD medium) or lower, the HD channels will play just fine. This is not ideal, of course

Update, this “workaround” does not seem to always work. I’d have to say being able to depend on Live TV to work at any given time certainly needs some work. Any help I can provide with testing please let me know.

Anybody have the same issue with HD? I did see almost out there about something similar occurring for certain UK HD shows. I am in US though.

FWIW, the latest PMS server seems to have fixed the issue, and in general, Plex PVR is working very well now. Way to go Plex dev’s!
