Lyrics not working - what am I missing?

Player Version#: Web player + latest iOS Plexamp

Lyrics aren’t working, and I don’t understand why. The music file is called “01 Acquired taste.m4a”, the lyric file is called “01 Acquired taste.txt” and both are in the same directory. Neither the web player nor Plexamp provide an option to display the lyrics.
Just did a library scan, to no avail.
Not sure if it is relevant, but the library agent is Plex Music, and the “prefer local metadata” checkbox is checked in the library settings.
Am I missing something here? It used to work.
