MAC: Help A Guy With A New iMac - External HD Not Showing Up In

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2438
Player Version#: Not yet!

New iMac. Catalina 10.15.3
Plex media connected on external HD that iMac sees fine. Plays fine off the HD, too.
Last iMac was same OS, just 7 years old. Everything worked great. Thanks PLEX!

Plugged the new stuff in, the libraries appeared in the HOME section of Plex [I’m assuming that data is stored online or something], because none of the material would play. I forget the warnng, but PLEX could not access it and suggested I make sure the library was properly connected.
Tried a few things. Scanned library files. Nothing. Did some Googling. No specific help to my dilema. So I deleted the libraries from PLEX hoping to just “reconnect” them. Nope.

The only difference in the new set-up is that I disconnected [deleted] the Apple Time Machine from our network as it was redundant. The new modem acts as our new wi-fi. I don’t think that should matter at all, since PLEX [presumably] accessed the data on the external HD through the thunderbolt cable. They are [seem to be] literally hardwired.

I would love some guidance here to get my media collection running again. I’m in the dog-house rn.

Thanks is advance.Screen Shot 2020-02-20 at 9.07.30 PM

See if this helps:

Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Ok,

In your case click on Untilted /Volumes/ your drive in the add Folder window like above.

Sorry. I didn’t realize OP had indeed posted to the linked thread I posted. DOH!

Thanks SE56. I tried that but it didn’t work either.
I ended up installing a previous version [ [PlexMediaServer-1.18.6.2368-97add474d-x86_64] which seemed to correct the problem. Appreciate the help, team!
