Mac Osx Server photo of hitler keeps being used as poster for episodes

Mac OSX

Version 4.30.2

HD Homerun Prime

A lot of my shows have the wrong posters for the episode. For some reason its a lot of the same image. Theres one image of Hitler that pops up a lot, it adds some laughs but I would like to correct it at some point. Is there a way to reset all posters or delete a file and have it re-do all posters? Ive seen some information on Windows server, but not mac. Ill add a photo of a season of SpongeBobs.

Is this show recorded via the HD Homerun you mention in your post or is it a show you added from your own file system? Looks almost as if the show didn’t match in the first place (or mismatched due to a bad folder structure) – giving you the poster of something completely else (clearly not “Sexy Dance Fighting”… but apparently only 3 of the 12 visible thumbs belong to Bob’s Burgers)

File type? mp4

All the data is correct. It uses the TVDB and finds all the proper information. I can manually edit the poster and the correct poster will be an option.

I suppose that’s why SE56 asked about the file type.
If this is mp4/m4v files… could it be this thumb pictures are embedded in the files (for whatever odd reason)?

Aren’t these just screenshots from your recording? Could be a commercial where AH is shown. I also have recorded episodes that have ads as their preview pic.

The same images are used throughout my server in different shows. It’s like there is a default set of images in a folder that Plex uses. I think they are used for the same season and episode in different shows too.

To prove that, try one of the files with multiplexing with MKVToolNix, it will destroy any reference to local metadata putting it into mkv container. As Plex does not read any metadata from mkv, the result should be as the agent provides only.

You may have to do the Plex dance with that episode

Can you share how you have organized your tv shows folder (from the level linked to the Plex library to the actual episode files).

the file type is the standard . ts that the plex dvr program uses.

I used the mkvtool deleted the original placed the new file in its place analyzed and refreshed metadata

my tv show file hierarchy is the plex recommended one. TV Shows/Show Title/ Season XX/ SXXEXX.

Heres an example of poster selection when editing an episode. There is an unassociated poster and then several that are from that episode.

Is this recorded content?
I believe we didn’t really follow the hint @Coxeroni gave… If this is a recorded show, this looks like it could be a snap taken from the show – e.g. from before the episode itself started (“later tonight… see xyz” – still a little odd they announce such a program during a kids show).

This is what I assumed since the Homerun was mentioned in the first post, and the behavior is exactly what I expect for recordings.

Its not. The hitler show was a documentary on another station. Theres one of Big Black from Rob and Big, its the same picture used for season 1 e 16 on multiple different shows recorded on multiple different stations. Its an issue where it pulls from the same folder or something. I think if I was to delete the folder where all the snapshots of pictures are it would fix it.
