Just noticed. Several random 2 1/2 Men episodes had random STTNG episode posters added and selected for use. Other series same deal only adding 2 1/2 Men, Law & Order, That 70s show, etc. Never seen this before. The original posters are still there but I have to go in and switch all of them back manually.
Thanks for the reply Elijah_Baley. Local media assets are not at the top of the agent lists. As far as naming, Plex named the directories and files, not me. These are Plex DVR recorded shows. Guess I failed to mention that earlier. I did recently switch from XML guide info to the Plex provided guide info. I deleted all shows that were set to record and added back in those I wished to keep. There were a couple minor issues but overall it went very smoothly. That was a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it’s related, not sure.
Playing around found if I unmatch the entire series then match using the movie database instead of the tv database, seems to refresh everything correctly. I’m all about easy so that’s my workaround for now. I’ll see how the new recordings go…
Found 4 recurrences of wrong episode posters in my two and a half men collection tonight. Don’t have time to look for more. Two of them had big bang theory pictures, one star trek ds9, and one I couldn’t identify. All of the erroneous pics are larger portrait orientation pics efficacy get cropped vs the correct ones which are landscape. No idea where these are coming from.
Just had some “The Big Bang Theory” episodes change posters. One has s poster from “Get Smart”, something I’ve never watched or recorded in my Plex server.
I’ve noticed this too on random series…where you have to go to the posters and you see several posters that have zero to do with this show, with the actual poster for that episode at the very end of the posters. Weird! I use filebot to name and everything is structured correctly. Local media assets is not at the top of agents.
Yep - like this. The second poster for this particular one I had to manually choose. The first poster I have no clue why it’s even there and has nothing to do with the show, but yet it was chosen when metadata finished. It doesn’t happen on all series or even every episode for me, just random ones.
So with in mind that it sometimes uses the season poster for the episode poster, is there a way to remove the season poster from the episodes poster selection so it cant choose it?
This has been happening to me for years. It’s always DVR’d shows that plex names itself. A plex dance or rematch can help, but you have to do it regularly.
Plex has no intention of fixing this, Games seem to be the new focus, so at this point, don’t consider it a bug, consider it a feature
I have the same problem with new incorrect posters being adding to each episode regularly some are in double digits. It only effects programs recorded via the DVR function programs manually imported by me seem unaffected. This is happening only in the plex app accessing Plex via the web interface does not have this problem but I can not actually play programs via the web interface as it constantly stutters and buffers. I am in australia and the goverment has forced everybody on to there NBN service which has serious latency problems which will never be addressed as the government do not specify maximum latency in their NBN specs.
So unless there is a way to use the web interface locally I really need the windows application to work.
Does anybody know another dvr/media option to run on a wd4100 NAS as I am increasingly getting the feeling Plex has lost the plot.
