I run my plex server on a synology DS918+, for some odd reason, the majority of my DVR’d tv episodes use posters from other shows I’ve also recorded. All other metadata seems to be correct. I’ve made sure to re-order my agents so personal media is last, or unchecked altogether.
I’ve done the whole plex shuffle, which fixes everything, but then it takes days and days to recreate all the preview thumbnails which isn’t ideal, especially when the problem persists after new episodes are recorded.
I’ve I click the edit icon for a particular episode and look at the available posters the correct poster is usually available, jut not the default.
I’ve made a post about this bug before, it’s been in affect well over a year. It seems any recordings that are happening at the same time have a high likelihood of getting whatever random poster from that time slots recordings they feel like.
I experience the same problem. I have noticed that the incorrect poster is usually from a different show with the same season / episode. To clarify - If show A, season 2, episode 4 has an incorrect poster, it is from season 2, episode 4 of some other show in the library. As mentioned above, if I edit the poster for the episode with the incorrect poster, a correct poster is always available to select along with sometimes other incorrect poster options.
The OS doesn’t matter, it’s poster lottery for simultaneous recordings. I stopped caring, but I did recently have to do some quick distracting when I was playing a cartoon for my nephew and some of the posters were for something offensive and very adultish off adult swim
Having the same issue; it seems to be getting worse. Nothing like having a near-nude George Costanza as the poster for an episode of one of my kids’ shows! Thanks Plex.
