If I customize my Home Screen Media Types in the player app, the list of “show & include” and “hide & don’t include” as well as the list order keep getting reset.
There doesn’t seem to be a pattern for when it gets reset, but it will work fine for a few times and then the saved preferences are reset.
None of the other categories are being affected ie Audio, Video, Subtitles. Just Home Screen Media Types.
Happens on Windows as well.

Does this mean the save preferences are reset after you close the application and then open it at a later date, or this is happening even while the application is open?
The saved preferences are reset after the application is closed. What’s odd is that it doesn’t happen every time. Maybe once every 7 or 8 times.
Do you have access to several Plex servers, instead of just one?
I have 2 mac mini plex servers in the house.
OK, and is one or both of them sometimes down or not reachable?
Can you remember if that was the case when the resets occured?
No,
During the resets they both would have been up and running.
There goes that theory…
Update: Seems to be unrelated. The non-TV layout settings just reset and the Home Screen Media Types remain unchanged.
One more thing I noticed. When the Home Screen Media Types are reset, all settings for PMP in the non-TV layout also reset to their default values. For example, under PMP -> General, the Time Format resets to 12 hours from 24 hours. Under Quality, Internet Streaming resets to 2 Mbps, etc.
Still cannot find a pattern. Will keep looking.
Where you switching between ‘desktop’ and ‘tv’ mode?
I do switch between desktop and TV mode. I’ll have to keep track if the settings get reset after switching between them.
Desktop to TV: Click on TV icon.
TV to Desktop: Click on computer/server icon.

I was merely interested in whether you were switching app modes or not,
I’ve only noticed the Home Screen Media Types reset when I quit then later re-launch PMP (later could be minutes or hours). I have not noticed it when switching between layouts.
Re: desktop layout settings reset, I’ve definitely noticed it when quitting then relaunching PMP. But not sure about when switching between layouts. I’ll watch for that and let you know if I see anything relevant.
Seeing the same sort of behavior. Using player version 3.83.1 and server 1.14.1.5488.
