MacOS Plex Player Does Not show Server or Allow Manual Config

I am running PMS on a server on my local network. It can be accessed via the web interface. However, on my Macbook pro, the Plex Player does not automatically see this server nor is there an option to specify the local network server. How can I configure the player to see the Plex server?

Update: after claiming the server on my account, the player finds the server. Unfortunately, the player is skipping frames. Everything appears to be running at 15fps.

Update: after adjusting Video Playback Quality from Maximum to High, the frame skipping no longer happens.
