Plex will not recognize my server

Server Version#: 4.54.5
Player Version#: 1.30.0.2105-43a11204

I’ve never had a problem with Plex in the past, but a couple days ago, it now says “The server “Your iMac” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.” I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting bits…but it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions? I’m not using any VPN or third party to connect to Plex. I have the updated version of Mac OS and Plex as well.

Thanks for your help!

Can you open/access your server from a browser on the Mac running your Plex Media Server using http://127.0.0.1:32400/web?

That URL you gave doesn’t work…but I can access it via https://app.plex.tv/desktop

That URL will only work on the machine that’s hosting the Plex Media Server.
If app.plex.tv/desktop can see it, the server should be up and running fine. Do I read your OP correct that only the desktop client (Plex for Mac) cannot see your server? – have you tried updating to 1.30.1?

I just updated to 1.30.1 ( 1.30.1.2115-81e1fc3f)…but still cannot link to the server. I have the same error message: " The server “Mery’s iMac” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again."

I was using it fine 2 days ago…I have no idea what happened…

Which version of PMS do you have installed?

Do you mean the app? I’m sorry for my ignorance. But I just downloaded the most recent version (1.30.1).

The app (1.30.1) is the Plex for Mac client.
You appear to run (have been running) your own Plex Media Server (on Mery's iMac)… if the Plex Media Server isn’t running, the Plex for Mac client has nothing to recognize…

I re-downloaded the PMS from the Plex homepage, and it now seems to be working okay. Thank you so much for your help!
