Plex keeps crashing randomly, I will be watching a movie or TV show then the server just crashes. I believe this started like 3 updates ago so I went back to 1.31.26810 and it seems to be working again. The most recent crash was on 1.32.4.7195. I am running a Mac Studio – M1 Max, 64 GB Ram, 32 Core GPU – Ventura 13.4.

Same here ! Same hardware.
I m still on Server Version#:1.32.4.7195 and will be patient, the crashes are once a day or less aprox.
There’s another thread from a few weeks ago with this same issue.
Might be installing an old server version until this is figured out.
Im glad Im not the only one. I am eagerly awaiting a fix so I can update again. With such great hardware it’s upsetting I am having so much trouble with using the most current software and have to resort to using an older version.
Any idea how to download this older version?

My MacOS server ( Version 1.32.4.7195) started crashing around 2-3 weeks ago. I can easily reproduce the crash by skipping to next TV episode (or using the next episode feature when an episode has finished).

Same issue - adding to this thread to keep it alive until it’s fixed.
Edit - I’ve also downgraded to the prior version.
Still running 1.31.2.6810 with no issues, hoping Plex get to this finally and gives us a fix.
Me too. The server crashes every day. I switched to the beta channel and it still crashed. The client crashes too. They were all Ok before the recent version.
I downgraded back to Version 1.31.2.6810 and it’s been solid since and when the update notification comes on I hit “Skip this…”. You can get it on the link I posted above.

Crashes for me every time I try to open it. Just started happening today on latest release on macOS Ventura. Intel iMac.
I tried installing the older version linked to above. Issue persists. I can’t get the server to run at all and also tried installing the latest regular version and beta version again but no luck.
Any ideas on what I can try next?

Recent previous versions of Plex updates can also be found in the Updates folder under the Plex Media Folder which on mac is at. User/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Updates
The library folder under the user name is usually hidden by default. So just un-hide and your in.

I’ve been having at least one daily crash for about a month or so and I just downgraded today because I got tired of explaining to family that Plex broke the stability of the server, no it’s not them, etc. The most recent versions on Plex Pass and stable have not resolved it as of today.

What version have you gone to mate? Mine has started again. Running latest macOS version and latest Plex version. Went ok for around a week and again crashing staring today. So bloody annoying!
I used the op’s suggestion to use the previous version. No crashes. Then I updated to the version released two days ago, 1.32.5.7327 and it is stable. I have an Intel i5 mini.
Have you noticed any difference in performance with 1.32.5.7327 from the older release? Has anyone updated that is using Apple Silicon? Im happy to hear that Plex fixed intel.
