Magic remote doesn’t work with live tv plex lg version

Server Version#: irrelevant
Player Version#: plex lg version. 5.55.2 see pic
Tuner Make/Model: hd homerun quatro
Guide/Lineup name: irrelevant
Using XMLTV?: no

The magic remote of the lg tv does not work with plex lg app. Looks like the mouse event is not being interpreted correctly or code installed to prevent it from functioning.

Clicking on any recorded show does not launch the program. So plex on lg is useless to me.

Have you tried resetting Remote.

Tried it. No change.

I called lg support and asked them to pressure the plex lg client developers to fix the problem.

If any plex lg client developers see this post please respond.

It is clearly a plex lg client software issue because the exact same steps on the plex roku client app work fine.

It only happens on the plex pass dvr schedule screen. It only happens on items that have been recorded. Clicking on unrecorded items takes you to the show schedule dialog as expected. Can you please check the onmouseclick() code on this screen? Its like the playshow code was commented out or something.

Create a Folder called recordings on your storage device. Add a TV type Library called recordings and link to the Recordings folder you have created.

So when you do a recording, send it to recordings on your Server using server app or LG WebOS app. (Works for me on my LG 65OLED)

Then when you want to watch go to Recordings Library on your Watching device or whatever you call the Folder. To add, what I have heard though, is to always keep one recording in that folder. Not sure why but read about it in the forums from one of moderators.

I believe DVR schedule is for reference rather than a Play function.

Another work around is to use the browser function in plex lg web os and navigate to http://app.plex.tv. Then the web version of the dvr schedule works fine. Throw out the plex lg client app. It sucks and can be deleted. You can create a bookmark in the web browser.

That’s fine if you wish to watch it by relay and a lower bit rate.
