Manage channels does not have all of my channels to select

I have four channels that I have no option to select to link it to. I have tried multiple zip codes, and finally found one that gets most of them. I referenced the channels above that I don’t have an option to link. I can play the channels fine from my HD Homerun and signal is good. I just can’t get them added to PLEX because there isn’t a channel to link them to in the guide.

Yeah, you need to find some other DVR software than PLEX. It’s a terrible DVR since you can only record/see things that the EPG says is on.

• So if there is no EPG for a channel your’e out of luck
• If the EPG is mistaken you cannot record it (no manual recording options).

So while it might work okay is the US, it’s hopeless most other places.

Did you ever resolve this ? In exactly the same situation. Baffled as to why I cannot add an channel without mapping it to an EPG channel!

I ended up playing with the zip codes and getting the majority of them to map, but not all.

There is no resolution to the issue. PLEX deliberately stays out of reach on this - which makes the DVR worthless more or less everywhere but the US, where I assume they have somewhat complete EPG coverage.
My own conclusion is that PLEX signed some contract not to allow for general purpose/manually created recordings when they bought the DVR framework from Silicondust. It makes no sense to deny users watching and recording channels that has no EPG or wrong EPG information.

Agree makes no sense. We should be able to add whatever channels we can get over the air even if there is no EPG.
