How to add tv channels manually

Hi,

Plex has just scan channels on my HDhomeRun. All channels has been detected.
But in the guide some channels have not been set.

How can I add these channels manually and link them with guide information.

Regards,
Stephane

Are these OTA “sub-channels” (e.g. 3.2, 3.3) or main channels?

No, these are main channels. I think the guide is based on zip code. But I can receive channels from other country.

Pick a zip code closer to the border with the other country. This method has been used by several other users that border the US/Canada.

Hi,
I am in the same case, some of the main channels don’t show in the guide.
I live in Spain and tried picking different zip codes but I don’t think that is the reason.

Thanks in advance.

I think what is being asked here is how to ‘add’ channels to an existing list, rather than choose a different list. I don’t think this is currently possible without using an external EPG. But if you google online you’ll find you can create an external EPG which will allow you to include any channels you like. That EPG can then be imported but note it is the only EPG as I understand it so you’d need to include your local channels as well as those from the other zip code. Plex does support that. Hope it helps so you can point your nose in the right direction, someone will correct me if any of it is incorrect, but it’s what I did a while back.

Yes, I am speaking about EPG.
Plex propose different list of provider for the guide. I use local over the air broadcast because this is the most complet list except for 2 channels.

So, I stop to lose time and money for PLEX TV. I found the solution: I use nextpvr instead. I have all channels and full complet EPG and it’s free.

I don’t understand why Plex can not get full EPG from DVB-T signal and I must pay for not fully services

Yes I agree. They should use the OTA info as al well. I have a problem where you can’t tune a channel simply because the guide is incomplete. Definitely needs a fix.
