Possible to add channels without EPG

Hi,
I did a search but didn’t find any good answers.

is there a way of adding channels that’s not in the EPG guide provided by plex.
here in Norway we have everything from tv to radio channels.
the provider has EPG over the air. but I cant find anywhere to use this
but I cant find any way of adding this over the air EPG, and if the channel isn’t listed in the EPG provided through plex, I cant add the channel.

for me the EPG for radio isnt important, I just want the channel to be available.

If you map it to an incorrect channel purposely, it’ll show the channel but no guide I believe.

problem is when you mapped all channels in EPG from plex "certified"provider and there is still more channels, because the epg list in norway so so bad that I wouldnt even call it a list…

would hope that plex finds a way of taking the EPG from whats provided in the datastream from the antenna

Well, no, I mean you map the available channels to whatever in the EPG. All the ones that show in the EPG list don’t need checked. There’s a couple that show for me that don’t have anything correct to map to, so I enable it and pick a random one just so that it’ll show in the guide without any data.

a channel can be listed only once from EPG, you cant list the same channel twice, like the national broadcaster, in epg its only listed once as NRK1, but we also have NRK1 nordland, NRK1 nordnytt, NRK Trondelag,… and so on so the epg has only a certain amount of channels,

So I guess this migth be a feature request, let us play channels even if there is no corresponding EPG…

I guess I don’t understand your situation. Sorry. I know that mapping available channels without a corresponding EPG entry to something else makes it available in my guide. Good luck.

thanks for trying.

You could work around by using something like Zap2xml or Xteve dummy epg to feed into as a manual epg source to work around this issue to at least get channels to render in plex dvr.
