Manged Users and Live TV/DVR

Server Version#: 1.15.3.876

I have 2 managed users. Im trying to share Live TV and DVR with them. Currently it does not work on their accounts. Ive tried this on Roku and thru the web browser. On my account I can access it all. On theirs they dont not have access. I have set the setting for sharing live TV and DVR in the manged users settings. I reinstalled the app on Roku and I just restarted my plex server, as it the computer it is installed on. Nothing.

DVR access needs Version 1.15.4.919. Live TV access should be working though. I would upgrade and try again.

ALSO…
You have to use https://app.plex.tv/desktop# to get the settings which is now a drop down list instead of a radio button. I needed to wait a day for it show up as well.

Then why is there a setting in the manage user that says access to Live TV and DVR? Doesnt make sense to me to have a setting if its not supported? I do access the server via the web browser on my computer, thats how I configure it. Also my server says its fully up to date. At least it did yesterday. As is the Roku app as I uninstalled it and reinstalled it.

As of now, I have no live TV access on the Roku.

As I have showed you that is not the current version. If you are on a NAS you may need to go to plex.tv downloads and check for the current version.

And there are multiple ways to access the plex.tv from the browser. One way is using a older version of the browser interface. The one gave you is the current one.

Im on a Windows laptop. Also, according to the settings it says up to date. Do I have to use a beta build? Because I rather not. Also on the version previous to this one, all devices had access to live TV, just not the DVR. So its like I took a step backwards.

No Beta:

Did you go here to check for current version for Windows? Notice the DATE.

Yeah it’s only available in current beta. I don’t use the betas and will wait for a stable release.

I kinda expected the updater in the sever to keep the server software up to date. I mean thats what the updater is for… I didnt expect I would have to manually update the server. I had to find and install remote management software just to do it, because my plex server is not in a easy to get to place currently.

I agree. I moved from Mac to Synology NAS. I never had to do a manual update on the Mac. But I have to on the Synology. Maybe if you had waited a “bit” of time it would have allowed you to update the normal way from the settings. I just know I wanted this new feature so was trying to get it asap. But in the past I never thought about it.
