I am running 1.37 using a sd card + usb card. So the system is really running from the usb.
Previous I had run 1.35 with this setup and tried the auto update, which did not appear to work, and from what I read it appeared that the updater does not support this setup currently.
So my question is which manual instructions can I use to do an update so that I do not blow away my cache. Which option is the best in my situation option 1 2 or 3 :)
I am seeing there are a few issues with 1.4/2.0 so I will hold off for now, but would like to get this information so I can update when things have settled.
I also have to say I have been very pleased with the performance. The only issue I have had the airplay support which hopefully, based on the change logs, has been improved in 1.40/2.0
I noticed that on the rasplex server the file called kernel.img but the new one is just named KERNEL is there an issue with the file apparent file name change?
Don't mess with that. Just copy the new files into /.storage/update/ and you're good. I just did it for this version, no issues. If there are already ANY files in .storage/update/ remove them first.
Protip: you can use wget from rasplex to grab the files from sourceforge to save you the trouble of transferring.

For the record: the update folder is /storage/.update/
