There seems to be an issue with update server, which includes GetRasplex.
The update server has been disabled at the moment, please do not use the update feature as it will install the wrong image for RPi2/3 and will not boot.
If you want to install the update then please download the appropriate image from GitHub and flash using GetRasplex, using select file and choose the file you downloaded. Our apologies.
I’ve been holding off on hitting “Update and Restart” in RasPlex until we had the all clear here. Does the fact that this option has been showing since before the issue was resolved mean that my Pi has already downloaded the wrong image?
If so, then presumably I need to clear it out in order to then download the correct image for the update? If you could confirm and then point me towards where I need to clear out the update files, that would be great!
If this showed up some days ago then yes you have the wrong image installed, go to the Update folder and delete the file then go into Check for updates in Preferences.
Hi, coming back from holidays, I saw a new version was available. I hit the install & reboot option so I click it. After a while, i stopped the installation as it froze for several minutes.
Long story short, then I went back to the update section in the preferences and downloaded the 1.6.1 and rebooted.
But the system is still showing 1.0.3 after reboot. When I click “Check new version” on the release release channel, it says i have the latest version available.
I’ve deleted the files in the temp et in update but unfortunately it won’t work.
I’ve manually downloaded the .dmg file for my RPI 2 and will put it in the /storage/.update/ via ssh. Hopefully it will work after reboot.
EDIT : not enough space to copy the whole img image… Any suggestions?
EDIT 2: In fact, followed the instructions from nedthenerd in the 1.6.0 announcement post (download manually the tar.gz, extract the .tar and put it in the /storage/.update/ folder.
AND IT WORKED!
EDIT 3: Arf, freeze on boot at the rasplex screen… I had to flash to a new SD card to get it worked. Maybe the previous SD was faulty or the new version can not work on a 2GB only SD. But finally : IT WORKED!
