Manually changing "Originally Available" date, Plex changes it to 1970-01-01

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715

I am not able to manually change the “Originally Available” date as Plex automatically changes it to 1970-01-01. I have tried restarting PMS but same issue occurs again.

I can change all other metadata tho

Yes, I see this too. I think there’s a bug.

I tested in both the local and https://app.plex.tv web interfaces, and in Plex.app on macOS.

I think the date fields have been changed in the database to be stored as a unix-style epoch times, but I don’t think the editing interfaces have been updated.

Well that’s annoying, do you know if there is a work around for this at the moment?

interestingly it seems to be a problem for me on PC versions’ PMS. I have another PMS on my QNAP and the issue doesnt seem to be happening

What version of PMS is on the QNAP box?

1.25.9 its on the QNAP

You might test rolling back to that version on the PC too.

It’s also still available for direct download from the Plex download page.

its a new pc so i dont actually have the previous updates on my device and i cant find the previous releases on Plex’ website.

I gave a link to the download page. If you turn off Plex Pass downloads you’ll get 1.25.9.

+1, can confirm this bug on 1.26.0.5715 win10.

@OttoKerner can u pls move this in the correct forum for beta bug reports so it does not get in stable?

I have same issue. Manually changing originally aired field to 2020-12-16 or anydate for that matter and it reverts to 1969-12-31

I am getting this problem with the new release “New PUBLIC PMS Version Available - 1.26.0.5715-8cf78dab3”

This issue is expected to be fixed in the upcoming PMS 1.26.1

Same problem here. Windows 10 Pro, PMS v 1.26.0.5715. Date changes to 1969-12-31.

I’m possibly seeing the same issue. Any new file I have added in the last 3-4 weeks (I think) has the Released Date as the Unix epoch (1970-01-01). I’m using PMS v1.24.1.4931 on a TerraMaster NAS.

I can also confirm this bug. I’m -4 hrs UTC. I reset my Pi to UTC and that resolves the problem. Resetting Pi to local time and problem is back, so we’ll just need to wait for the next update.
