TV show matching is a bit broken due to changes at TheTVDB.
The workaround, as you mention, is to perform a Fix Match using the show ID from TheTVDB.
There is a new TV scanner in beta that is supposed to resolve the problems (I haven’t tried it yet, so cannot personally confirm).
