I am creating the media index files on my server to provide thumbnail previews in Now Playing and while seeking. Are the the previews while seeking (fast forward) supposed to work on the Xbox One app? If so, they are not working for me.
I was wondering about this as well. I haven't created media index flies yet, but definitely will if they are supported on the Xbox One app.
They are supported...i have tested this myself. Don't know what the issue is on your side
Interesting that they work for you. I only get a black window with no thumbnails preview as I fast forward or rewind a movie or a TV show. My server is running on a very powerful quad core i7 computer running Ubuntu, I don't think the problem is on the server side.
Great. Thanks for the confirmation, mcrommert.
Sounds like now is a good time for me to turn them on.

Same here, got an i7 running Ubuntu 12.04 and I only get the black window while seeking on the Xbox One despite having index files for all of my media. Oddly enough, on the Plex/Web 'Now Playing' page the index files are used.

I have seen them work for me only one time, but what your experiencing is the same exact thing I see. Black box on Xbox One, but Plex/Web Now playing clearly shows index images as the titles are played..
My server is running on Windows 8.1 Pro
Same here for me to. However if I use a Roku the index files are working fine.
