Media Keeps Disappearing from Plex but Still Exists in Synology NAS Library

Server Version 1.25.2.5319
Player Version 8.28.0.30077
Running on Windows 10 PC
Library housed on Synology NAS 1520+

Hi all. I just set up a brand new Plex server after the old one, running on an ancient Macbook pulling media from 7 different externals, started to go south. It did, however, work smoothly most of the time, but was VERY slow.

I will have all of the media from these old externals eventually housed in a single JBOD pool of 4 14TB Seagate Exos X16 14TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache Drives. These ones here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T63FDJQ?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details&th=1

I have not finished migrating all of the files over to the NAS drives from the old externals yet, but I wanted conduct a test to see if everything was working. I installed the Plex server on my windows machine, mapped a network drive as Z:// for the NAS server, pointed the English Language Films library in Plex to the English Language Films network drive Z:// folder on the NAS, and populated the Plex library with the NAS drive files for english language films. It found all of the films just fine, and someone outside my network was able to connect to the server and start a movie. However, after about an hour or so, ALL of the files in the Plex library disappeared and I had to re-populate the English Language Plex library again by having it re-scan the network drive Z:// folder. It has now finished re-populating the English Language library yet again, but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop and them to disappear again.

Any ideas why they all disappeared? Did the Windows machine lose connection with the NAS for some reason? Is this a permissions issue? I am stumped. Never had this issue on the ancient Macbook running off of ancient externals.

I am going to be using this as a movie and television server for a group of about 60 people. I am a NAS noobie, so I appreciate any and all help.

I think I figured it out. I needed to set a static IP.
