Media libraries not automatically being scan anymore

As per the title states … Media libraries not automatically being scan anymore ! … I unchecked save and rechecked in the settings but it’s a no go …

Anybody else ?

Hello … anybody else having this problem ? Any advices ? I already deleted the preferences plist and created another but no change.

As far as I remember, macOS will only monitor internal drives. Hence external or network drives don’t trigger automatic library updates.
Do you have your updated library stored on a volume “in” the mac or on an external / network drive?

Funny because over the years I’ve never experienced anything like that before … 2 months ago when i posted it was in another mac internally …

All three of my macOS Plex servers have all media on external drives. They all update immediately when media changes. Running Plex Media Server 1.16.4.1469 and macOS 10.13.6.

OP: Are the external drives HFS+ or some other format?

They are HFS+

Hmmmm. Don’t know what would be causing it then unless it is a corrupt database. (Hope not). Might have to wait for a Ninja to appear.

Will your server scan on a periodical or partial setting?

I’ve tryed both without success

I also tryed a fresh install on macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra) and same thing with macOS 10.14.5 (Mojave) … really strange !

Seeing the same issue on Windows. Media is on a NAS. This started happening a couple weeks ago.

A fresh install is removing everything except your libraries contents. Dragging PMS to the trash and deleting will not work.

I’m successfully running Plex server 1.16.5.1488 on Mojave 10.14.6 without issue

My Windows Server Version 1.16.5.1488

Not only is Plex not auto-detecting changes to library folders and initiating scans, but the nightly maintenance scheduled scan is not occurring and finding the added content. The only way I can get new content to show is to open Plex on the PC and initiate a manual library scan.
