We have a new plex library of about 2100 videos. It’s just setup, and it’s very slow to access the video when first clicking play, and even the settings say “Server unavailable” at times. We’re able to access the synology at the same time and upload in high speeds to it. Everything is connected via CAT6.
Accessing the Syno to transfer files is independent of playing video.
Network cabling doesn’t matter as long as it’s CAT 5 or better for gigabit. Anything lower/older can cause errors when run over 300 ft.
Without more information, there is no way to know if it’s still ingesting all those videos or if everything (chapter thumbnails in particular) is done.
Would you be able to do the following?
With the system otherwise quiescent
Start a playback session
Let it play for 30 seconds
Stop playback
Wait another 30 seconds for logs to flush
