Media not being picked up on scan

I have a fairly large library of Movies, TV and Music running on Ubuntu 16.04. I understand permissions issues and naming conventions, and yet I have albums by an artist that just will not add to the music library on a scan. I have checked and rechecked permissions on the folder structure the files are in, as well as the files themselves. I have named them as I have named all of my other music, including tag format.

I am at a complete loss as to how to get these files to add!

Any advice on how to get these files added is massively appreciated.

How about showing the actual file and folder names you are using?

Folder is called Dubmatix. Albums are just given their title as subfolders. Tracks inside album subfolders are named “01 trackname.mp3” etc.

I actually just dumped the albums into a “various artists” folder and the albums added…so maybe the artist folder had a permissions issue or something…Anyway it’s a kludge but it’s fixed now.
