Media not playing after update

Web application has error message, “Check that the media exists and the drive is mounted”. On my Bravia Android TV the PLEX app does seems to start but then shuts down. On Android phone is says,“Media unavailable. The file associated with this item is not accessible by the server Please verify that the file exists and the necessary drive is accessible.”

Sounds like PMS cannot find the files where they are suppose to be. Check the info for a file that won’t play. It will tell you where the file is expected. Use windows file explorer and confirm that the file can be found using the exact same path.

FYI: All my media is on a Synology NAS. I verified the path and the file exists where it is pointing. It is not just one but all video files under the folder /video/. I am uninstalled and reinstall and it did work for a few times but immediately after I performed the most recent update to PLEX the bindings broke again.

This has been frustrating. So what I did was uninstall the newest version that was manually installed and then I installed PLEX again using the package installer on the Synology NAS. Now the version is 1.13.4.5271.200287a06. Seems to be working again. I will monitor to see if this will actually fix everything.

Are you running the server on the Synology or on a Windows PC? You tagged this thread server-windows. But if you’re running Plex Media Server on the Synology, your answer might be here:

You’ll want to get familiar with the Synology forum. Seems to have lots of support from smart folks.

Thank you. I did not realize my post was tagged incorrectly.
