Media Playback Overlay Windows 11

Server Version#: 4.66.1

The overlay that used to appear while playing music using Plex Media Server doesn’t appear after upgrading to Windows 11.

For those unaware, a media playback overlay used to pop up when I used play/pause, volume up/down, keys.

This was very beneficial to me and I miss it. I could easily see what song was playing when I paused or changed volume, now I have to alt+Tab to the web browser and find Plex to see what is currently being played.

Whether I was in a full screen video game, working with applications, or browsing the web, I could always see the media playback overlay when I used my media playback control keys.

Can something be done to fix this?

Can we get the media overlay to show up in Windows 11?

Thanks

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any chance this will be fixed in future update?

Microsoft is redesigning the flyouts, unfortunately it did not ship with the Windows 11 21H2 update.

Until then, I would suggest downloading ModernFlyouts from the Windows Store.

Thank you, I didn’t know what they were called but flyouts must be what they are. I did as you suggested and installed ModernFlyouts, liking it so far. Thanks again
